Dabei wird das Thermometer auf die Temperatur von kochendem Wasser (100 \u00b0C bzw. 212 \u00b0F) eingestellt. Diese Methode ist zwar nicht die sicherste, funktioniert aber. Man f\u00fcllt einen Topf mit Wasser, stellt ihn auf eine Herdplatte und bringt das Wasser zum Kochen. Anschlie\u00dfend taucht man die Sonde des Thermometers in das kochende Wasser und stellt die Temperatur ein. Diese Kalibrierungsmethode ist nicht die sicherste, da man w\u00e4hrenddessen die H\u00e4nde \u00fcber das kochende Wasser halten muss.
