Deux mesures sont n\u00e9cessaires pour d\u00e9terminer la temp\u00e9rature exacte. La premi\u00e8re est effectu\u00e9e par un capteur appel\u00e9 \u201c\u00a0compensation de soudure froide\u00a0\u201d, auquel le thermocouple est connect\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Ensuite, il calcule le signal en mV mesur\u00e9 par le thermocouple. Enfin, il calcule la temp\u00e9rature exacte \u00e0 distance du thermom\u00e8tre en soustrayant la compensation de la jonction froide du signal de l&#039;extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 chaude. On peut \u00e9galement l&#039;appeler ohmm\u00e8tre, car son principe de fonctionnement est similaire. Il mesure la r\u00e9sistance gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 son capteur. Pour ce faire, il applique un faible courant ou une faible tension \u00e0 son capteur, puis mesure la valeur \u00e0 ses bornes.<\/p>\n<p>Afin de minimiser les erreurs de ce thermom\u00e8tre, une connexion \u00e0 quatre fils est souvent utilis\u00e9e. Deux fils de ce syst\u00e8me mesurent la tension ou le courant aux bornes du capteur, et les deux autres sont charg\u00e9s de transmettre l&#039;excitation.
