I haven’t had any issues with battery powered thermometers in the past but having a rechargeable battery is nice. The magnet is great to make it stick to my knife board. The thermometer sensor is thinner than my previous thermometer and it reads a lot faster.

The temp reading comes from the very tip, so there is no need to worry about how deep it goes as long as you realize where the reading is coming from. The magnet is a great feature to have. When grilling, I can stick it on the lower part of the grill so it is handy and ready for use. The display is backlit and easy to read.

This baby gives a temp as soon as I pull it out of the convenient protective sleeve I have clipped to my apron front pocket. At first, I was leery of the fact it is rechargeable instead of using batteries, but I’m keeping the cord wrapped around it when I store it, and it’s simple to just plug in into the USB outlet I keep plugged into a kitchen socket.

This is a very quick and responsive thermometer. I can move it from steak to steak and get a quick reading without having to wait for the thermometer to adjust to the new temperature that it has been thrust into. The design of the body fits in the pen/thermometer slot on my chef jacket sleeve for quick and easy access, which is something I can’t do with the wide household food thermometers. But like those, I could attach it to a metal surface through the magnet if needed, but I prefer it on my jacket. A convenient plus for this thermometer is the bright display with large digits, so I can quickly and readily get a reading on my food and liquid temperatures. But I’m really happy that I don’t have to keep a supply of flat coin batteries any more for my cheap thermometers as this can be charged with a USB C cable.
